Outro estudo, da revista Nature, trata do tropismo tecidual e replica\u00e7\u00e3o viral do SARS-CoV-2.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Presenting Characteristics, Comorbidities, and Outcomes Among 5700 Patients Hospitalized With COVID-19 in the New York City Area<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Resumo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Utilizando uma s\u00e9rie de casos de pacientes com COVID-19 (<em>coronavirus disease 2019<\/em>) de uma rede de sa\u00fade da \u00e1rea da cidade de Nova York, os autores descrevem caracter\u00edsticas demogr\u00e1ficas, comorbidades, exames cl\u00ednicos e desfechos iniciais de 5700 pacientes internados entre 1\u00ba de mar\u00e7o e 4 de abril de 2020.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><u>Caracter\u00edsticas da popula\u00e7\u00e3o estudada<\/u>:\n<ul>\n<li>M\u00e9dia de idade de 63 anos, com predom\u00ednio do sexo masculino.<\/li>\n<li>Na triagem, 30,7% dos pacientes estavam febris, 17,3% estavam taquipn\u00e9icos e 27,8% necessitaram de oxig\u00eanio suplementar.<\/li>\n<li>Comorbidades mais comumente observadas:\n<ul>\n<li>Hipertens\u00e3o arterial (56,6%)<\/li>\n<li>Obesidade (41,7%)<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes (33,8%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><u>Desfechos<\/u>: 14,2% dos pacientes necessitaram de terapia intensiva, 12,2% necessitaram de ventila\u00e7\u00e3o mec\u00e2nica invasiva, 3,2% necessitaram de terapia de substitui\u00e7\u00e3o renal e 21% evolu\u00edram a \u00f3bito.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Os dados de desfechos s\u00f3 foram obtidos em 2634 pacientes que tiveram alta ou evolu\u00edram a \u00f3bito, uma vez que o restante dos pacientes permanecia internado no momento da conclus\u00e3o do estudo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Tais dados s\u00e3o importantes para guiar o desafio atual: gerenciamento de recursos hospitalares locais.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Refer\u00eancia:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>RICHARDSON, S. et al. Principais destaques do estudo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Testes para identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de sgRNA (<em>viral subgenomic messenger RNAs<\/em>) realizados em amostras de orofaringe mostraram evid\u00eancia de replica\u00e7\u00e3o viral nas vias a\u00e9reas superiores e inferiores de um mesmo paciente, indicando um forte tropismo tecidual do SARS-CoV-2 tamb\u00e9m pelas vias a\u00e9reas superiores, contrariamente ao observado com respeito ao SARS-CoV.<\/li>\n<li>O RT-PCR de amostras coletadas de vias a\u00e9reas superiores por <em>swab<\/em> apresentou boa sensibilidade para o diagn\u00f3stico laboratorial da COVID-19.<\/li>\n<li>A propaga\u00e7\u00e3o viral por tempo prolongado atrav\u00e9s do escarro foi relevante.<\/li>\n<li>Medidas de conten\u00e7\u00e3o da propaga\u00e7\u00e3o do v\u00edrus devem ter como alvo a transmiss\u00e3o baseada em got\u00edculas, ao inv\u00e9s de f\u00f4mites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Refer\u00eancia:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>W\u00d6LFEL, R .et al.
