Foram reunidos os 12 primeiros pacientes com diagn\u00f3stico confirmado (por RT-PCR) de COVID-19 que foram submetidos ao exame de tomografia computadorizada de t\u00f3rax, no Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, em S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Os principais achados se assemelham aos que v\u00eam sendo descritos na literatura e est\u00e3o de acordo com a experi\u00eancia internacional recente:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Opacidades em vidro fosco multifocais bilaterais, por vezes associadas a reticulado fino de permeio (pavimenta\u00e7\u00e3o em mosaico), geralmente envolvendo v\u00e1rios lobos pulmonares e com distribui\u00e7\u00e3o predominantemente perif\u00e9rica no par\u00eanquima.<\/li>\n<li>Baixa incid\u00eancia de derrame pleural e a aus\u00eancia de linfonodomegalias, n\u00f3dulos ou les\u00f5es escavadas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">O artigo ainda discute (analisando literatura recente) que, sob indica\u00e7\u00f5es cl\u00ednicas espec\u00edficas, a TC de t\u00f3rax pode auxiliar no diagn\u00f3stico desta doen\u00e7a, mas n\u00e3o \u00e9 recomendada para rastreamento ou como teste de primeira escolha para o diagn\u00f3stico de COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Refer\u00eancia:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">CHATE, R.C .et al. Como principais pontos, temos que:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>O gene ACE2 codifica a enzima conversora da angiotensina-2 (ACE2) que, ao que tudo indica, \u00e9 usado como receptor de liga\u00e7\u00e3o pelo coronavirus (2019-nCoV\/SARS-CoV-2) no hospedeiro.<\/li>\n<li>O tabagismo est\u00e1 associado ao aumento da express\u00e3o da prote\u00edna ACE2 no pulm\u00e3o.<\/li>\n<li>A exposi\u00e7\u00e3o prolongada \u00e0 nicotina pode levar a um mecanismo celular de susceptibilidade viral, o qual pode influenciar na gravidade da doen\u00e7a durante a infec\u00e7\u00e3o pulmonar, bem como durante a infec\u00e7\u00e3o em outros \u00f3rg\u00e3os.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Os autores ainda destacam que tanto o tabagismo quanto a inala\u00e7\u00e3o de nicotina correlacionam-se com um aumento agudo da press\u00e3o arterial sist\u00f3lica e diast\u00f3lica; e com o aumento da atividade da ACE no plasma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Refer\u00eancia:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>OLDS J L, .et. al.
